Conditions for fat biking in Colorado are top notch right now. With a few storms and high pressure in between, there is plenty of snow for fat biking, but not enough to bog you down. While it may not be great for skiers, it is wonderful for creating fat bike singletrack. A select group of users, fat bikers and hikers, in Crested Butte, Colorado have been packing down the Upper Loop trail system which sits just outside of town. This iconic trail is not typically rideable in the winter due to large amounts of snow, but right now it is a fat bikers heaven. Crested Butte will be home of the first annual Fat Bike World Championships in January, While the four races may not exactly follow the route in this video, there will be plenty of fat track to be had.
