Scottish based bicycle manufacture Shand are pleased to announce the Shand Tumshie, a Rohloff fat bike to add their growing range of hand-built adventure mountain road and touring bikes.
Designed primarily around a Rohloff 500/14 XL Speedhub, the Paragon Polydrop rear dropouts (with integrated frame splitter for Gates Carbon Belt Drive) and bolt on cable guides allow fitting of other drive trains, providing a flexible fat bike frame with 4.8 tyre clearance.
The frame geometry is compatible with Bluto suspension forks and available with Shand’s own suspension corrected rigid carbon fork.
Steven Shand said: “So many people have asked for a fat bike, we decided to make one – and here it is! I’ve built and ridden hundreds of bikes over the years but I can honestly say nothing has put a grin on my face like this one. I absolutely love it. It’s the funnest bike ever!”
