For Immediate Release: 14 October, 2016

Today, Bikepack Canada has officially finalized their lineup and schedule for the Inaugural Canmore Bikepack Summit, which is set to be held October 21st through the 23rd. While traditional events and road bike sales are struggling to find new ground, interest in bikepacking (the combination of off-road adventure cycling and overnight travel) has risen steeply the last few years.

In it’s inaugural year, the summit promises to touch on a number of bikepacking topics such as bikes, gear, nutrition, routes, how-to’s, and more. Helping touch on those topics are avid bikepackers such as Lindsay Arne – co-founder of Bikepacker, Neil Beltchenko – avid endurance cyclist, Josh Kato – 2015 Tour Divide winner, Ryan Correy – adventure cyclist, Scott Felter – the brains behind Porcelain Rocket and more.

Event highlights are as follows:

  • Sunrise rides around the Bow Valley
  • Engaging panel discussions with our featured guests
  • Good balance of seminars on mechanics, packing, touring, racing, riding with the family, and more
  • Evening socials in support of the Canmore & Area Mountain Bike Association (CAMB)

An intimate group of 40 individuals will leave the summit, which is hosted by Rebound Cycle, with a greater sense of bikepacking knowledge. Knowledge that they can bring to their next overnighter, extended trip, or event.

None of this would be possible without the dedication and hard work from Ryan Correy, founder of Bikepack.ca and adventure cyclist. The weekend should be really fun and something cyclists and industry folk should consider participating in down the road.

If you can’t make it this year, be sure to check out Bikepacker’s Facebook page for live updates throughout the weekend. For more information and the full schedule visit Bikepack.CA or email Ryan at info@bikepack.ca.
